The only controller of night and day is the great creator Allah. Human life is spent on day and night. Night and day are signs of God's power. Almighty Allah systematically reveals the bright light of the day and the darkness of the night.

About the change of day and night, Allah says, "Do you not see that Allah makes the night enter the day and the day enters the night." (Surah Luqman, verse: 29). Day is ending at night and night is appearing at the end of day.

 

Here it is said, night gradually enters day and day gradually enters night. Night and day are made through this process. Incidentally, because the earth is round, night can be day and day can be night.

 

Almighty Allah has made the night a bed for man and a ruler of rest for the weary body of the day. A medicine of relief at the end of restlessness. In the rest of sleep, both humans and animals regain full energy and agility in their body from all fatigue and defects.

 

Almighty Allah says, 'I have given you sleep for your rest, I have made the night for you as a cover, and I have made the day for your work.' (Surah Naba, verses 9-11)

 

Allah Ta'ala also says, "And He created the night as a means of tranquility for people." (Surah An'am, verse: 96)

 

Although God made a bed for the benefit of people to sleep at night, today's modern society sleeps unnecessarily late. Unnecessary night waking makes people sick in thoughts, mind and body. Takes the energy out of life. Due to lack of sleep, the body is weak, mood is irritable with the risk of diabetes and heart disease, and turmoil occurs in individual, family and public life.

 

So the welfare of man lies in sleeping at night. If you sleep early, immunity increases. Body weight is correct and under control. Helps bring enthusiasm and creativity to work. Mind and brain are good. The beauty of the face increases.

 

Lack of sleep lowers the immune system of a person, leading to many problems including loss of performance. Sleep apnea is one of the causes of snoring, which disrupts sleep. People with snoring experience daytime sleepiness, memory lapses, depression, moodiness, high blood pressure. Lack of sleep can lead to a weakened immune system, digestive problems, risk of heart disease, depression, weight gain and even eye problems.

 

Reducing smoking and drinking alcohol improves sleep. One should not go to sleep immediately after eating at night. Experts say sleep should be invited. Adults need at least five and a half hours of continuous deep sleep.

 

Islam has given some good rules for sleeping at night. Ablution before going to bed, lying on the right side keeps the heart healthy. Prophet Muhammad (SM) said about reciting dua before sleeping and doing miswak after waking up.

 

Sleep is very important for physical and mental well-being. There is no substitute for sleep to maintain health.
